Why Top Robot Vacuum Is The Right Choice For You?

Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

Robots aren't as good in removing debris like metal screws or chunks of pasta. However, they are excellent at brushing away pet hair, dust and dust. The best models have intelligent navigation and object avoidance capabilities which allow them to navigate around toys, cords and other obstacles in the household.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that comes with several smart features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most convenient features we've seen in a robot and it's compatible on both hard floors and carpets. It's also easy to set up and operate, with the app guiding you step-by-step through the process. Another feature that is impressive is the ability to return to the spot where it left off in our tests--it did this for 77 minutes on one cleaning before running out of battery.

The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums we have tested, has a self emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt container on the base of its charging once it is fully filled. The i3+ EVO can be prevented from overfilling with a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be manually emptied at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L that will last for four to five cleaning sessions.

Similar to the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones but not the i3+ EVO.

While the i3+ EVO is superior at picking up dirt and debris from surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at, it's not the best in terms of cleaning corners and edges. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It was quite rough on furniture as it moved chairs away. It also caused collisions against the sides of the bed.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

Whether you're expanding your collection of robot vacuums or just starting out using one, the Q5 Pro is a great option. It packs a lot of power, smart navigation and a user-friendly automation into a sleek design for a reasonable price. It's the most affordable pound-for-pound model available today and is even better than some of Roborock's much pricier models in a variety of ways.

This robot is fantastic at cleaning floors that are bare and its avoidance technology helps it to steer clear of furniture legs or other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and gets an excellent score in our tests of navigation. It's only downside is that it's noisier than other models, and doesn't perform better in our user-satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin that is 770ml, which means you don't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. Its 240-minute runtime is quite generous in comparison to other robots we've tested. If the battery is low, it automatically returns to its dock, where it recharges and then resumes cleaning where it was when it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

This is one of the first robots we've seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations has helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests for vacuuming and mopping tests. You can schedule cleaning times, set no-go zones, and view the status of the battery, among other things. The app is easy to use, but it doesn't support Apple HomeKit and that feature is expected to be available in 2025. Apple updated its footnote on its website in the beginning of November to reflect the fact that this feature has been delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with several other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.

The TP-Link RV30 Plus comes with powerful suction, three settings for dry mopping, and can quickly remove dust, pet hairs, crumbs, and other debris from floors of any kind. The device can clean carpets without damaging it thanks to special mopping tools.

You can alter the map in the app and combine or split rooms according to your preferences. You can also create no-go zones and virtual walls to prevent the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas you don't want to access.

4. Eufy iMop

The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is one of best fully-featured robots for hard flooring. It has a high-tech mapping system that maps your home across multiple floors. The well-designed base station nearly completely automates the cleaning process. It provides excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.

It also did a great job of avoiding obstacles such as furniture. It also has the ability to return to the base station which is a nice feature in the event it is unable to recharge its battery during a cleaning session.

The spot cleaning mode allows you to clean a particular space on your floor. It can also be programmed to follow a particular direction. This is great if you have narrow hallways or stairs. It was capable of cleaning carpets in our carpet cleaning test however it had a difficult time with longer pile carpets and rugs. It can also be set to automatically lift the mop pad when it comes in contact with carpet. This is a wonderful feature to not mop your carpets.

The iMop comes with an onboard dustbin as well as a water tank that empties at the end every cleaning session. The dust bin onboard can hold up to 2.5 liters and needs to be empty every two cleaning cycles. The water tank is capable of handling about a dozen mopping sessions before running out. The iMop is much easier to clean and maintain than the typical robot cleaner, and can be an important selling point for busy households.

The iMop smartphone app is simple to use and comes with a variety of configuration options. It has multiple suction modes, mopping settings, and also scheduling. It also lets you create virtual walls and no-go zones so the robot won't wander into rooms that are off limits. The app also allows access to the iMop status and error messages.
